Len Szafaryn and Owen Morse were the original purchasers of the Cross Country Ranch property in 2006.  Dedicated to preserving free flying in the area, Owen has spent thousands of hours upgrading the property and supporting numerous projects of the Crestline Soaring Society.  Owen was the recipient of the Presidential Citation Award from USHPA in 2009 for his hang gliding exhibit this is still on display at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport.  In 2019, Owen set the world record for an out and return hang gliding flight of 222 miles. He is honored to be serving as the Len Szafaryn Free Flight Conservancy’s first president, and to be surrounded by what he considerers to be the A-Team of the free flight community.
